The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Devastated Devon Wants Justice – Lily’s Freedom On The Line

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Devastated Devon Wants Justice - Lily's Freedom On The LineDevon (Bryton James) is seeking what he calls justice on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Lily (Christel Khalil) has also come to believe that she should be punished for the tragic accident that took the life of ‘Hevon’s’ unborn child and then Hilary (Mishael Morgan).

It’s natural that a husband would be grieving the loss of his loved ones. However, it’s Devon’s free will choice to blame Lily for being the cause of his pain.

Lily was surprised when first learning that she drove through a red light, which resulted in an apparent tractor trailer broadsiding her car on that fateful day in downtown Genoa City. Her reaction proved, beyond all reasonable doubt, that she had not willfully tried to kill Hilary. Of course, if Devon was using logic he’d know that his adoptive sister wouldn’t have jeopardized her own son, Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) through that type of reckless action.

Morgan’s write-out was truly dramatic. Y&R deserves strong credit for crafting an exit storyline that was not only compelling, also resonates. As is being seen, the multiple paths all connected characters are taking can be mined for awhile, which is perfect for a daily serial.

It appeared as though ‘Hevon’ Part II was being established for a long run just prior to Morgan announcing her voluntary departure from the cast. Hilary and Devon had not only made peace, but were looking forward to an infinitely enhanced reunion that was centered upon their forthcoming child.

Along with the above, ‘Lane’ was together and seemed strong. The entire Juliet (Laur Allen) saga was part of a receding soapy past, with Cane’s (Daniel Goddard) rarely seen son Sam now nicely tucked into the Ashby family fold.

As a result of all that’s transpired, Lily could be heading to prison for up to twenty years. Michael’s (Christian LeBlanc) unsettled nature seems to project coming doom for Mrs. Ashby, which is why Cane intended to whisk his family to Australia. Thankfully Lily dashed that heartfelt plan.

This part of the Hillary Dies arc is fully compelling because Y&R fans can’t easily predict what will happen next. A light, legal slap on the wrist, or two decades in the slammer wouldn’t be believable, if either is achieved.

Devon and Lily aren’t likely to reclaim their warm sibling bond in the near future. So, with whatever justice Lily faces, it will be interesting to see how James and Khalil’s textured characters advance.
