The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Billy Drawn Into Summer’s Game – Philly In Danger

Billy (Jason Thompson) should have simply told Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) the truth on ‘The Young and the Restless’. The first time Summer (Hunter King) started playing games, his significant other should have been clued in. She’s Summer’s mother, Billy!

The latest poker game saw Summer text out to Billy for help. Not only had she lost ten thousand dollars during what seemed to be a very short stay in the Genoa City Athletic Club suite, but Summer also admitted that she’d blown her entire Newman trust fund.

Fans now know why Summer felt compelled to steal the sports car of her supposed boyfriend (Pax). She didn’t have the money to either buy a car, rent an inexpensive ride, or elect a ride-share via an app.

Summer’s drop-back into GC was followed by reckless behavior that reminds some in this fictional Wisconsin town of their own early-adulthood. Oh, Phyllis (as first played by Michelle Stafford), does this young lady increasingly look even more familiar to you?

Phyllis has already admitted that her daughter’s self-absorbed actions are like staring herself in the face. Yes, the one-time ‘Red’ was a wild one, which is a deeply generous applied tag.

Those storylines stand with the most epic in modern Y&R history, including the time Phyllis conned Danny into believing she was pregnant with his son and later ran down Paul (Doug Davidson) and Christine (Lauralee Bell), Danny’s then-flame when Phyllis was stalking him. To-date, Phyllis has never, somehow, been arrested, or prosecuted for that crime.

Billy is a gambling addict. He’s twice played poker, both times involving Summer. The choice of that specific lure was clearly intentional.

Her game appears to aim at knocking Billy off-balance, hoping that serves to end ‘Philly’, which then frees her mom up for Jack (Peter Bergman). Whether Summer wants Billy for herself or will cast him off when that mission is finished is unknowable at this point.
