The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Ashley Doubts Dina’s Claim – Jack’s Paternity Issue Temporarily Shelved

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Ashley Doubts Dina's Claim – Jack's Paternity Issue Temporarily ShelvedAnything is possible on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Dina (Marla Adams) could have been telling Abby (Melissa Ordway) the exact truth. Then again, the Alzheimer’s effect may have caused Dina to simply misremember who Jack’s (Peter Bergman) father actually was?

Ashley (Eileen Davidson) sloughed off Abby’s shock and obvious concern. But Y&R fans, like Ordway’s character, must now wonder if what Dina said is accurate and what the dramatic implications of this reveal would be?

In order to stretch what is a very unexpected mystery, Jack will likely be kept in the dark for awhile. Viewers can easily project a scenario where he, like Abby, hears Dina’s claim unexpectedly.

Interestingly, Dina was adamant about not wanting John (who she currently sees Jack as being) around when Abby was recording their conversation about Mrs. John Abbott’s life in Genoa City back in the day. That plausibly indicates that yes, Dina wanted to protect John from hearing what she was going to say because she knew it would hurt him.

As of now, Brent Davis (Bert Kramer) appears to have been ruled out as Jack’s father. He’s the side character who was revealed in the mid-1980’s as having been Ashley’s real father. John is believed to have never learned that confirmed fact.

Clearly, the only way the truth will be known is through a paternity test being conducted. John (Jerry Douglas) died years ago, but possibly a remnant of his being still exists. That alone would allow a paternity test result to be determined in his specific regard. A negative result would fully fuel the search for whoever Jack’s biological father would be.

Another Abbott identity question now exists due to Dina’s inability to recall the name of Jack’s supposed father and her connected Alzheimer’s issues. With whatever happens, it’s great to see that Adams will remain in the cast for the foreseeable future.

Adams’ return to Y&R took an unexpected turn when Dina’s diagnosis was revealed last year. This storyline continues to be meaningful and fully engaging.
