The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: J.T. and Vickie Interested in Each Other – Reunion Hopes Bolstered

Prospects for ‘JTV’ II appear to be improving on ‘The Young and the Restless’. J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) and Vickie (Amelia Heinle) have directly expressed their romantic interest in each other at the ‘Father Knows Best’ house and in Vickie’s new office at Newman Enterprises.

Longtime viewers recall that the original set, where Vickie and Billy (then played by Billy Miller) lived as a newly married couple, was built to purposely resemble the home of the classic 1950’s sitcom (which originally was a radio show) that aired on CBS during two parts of its televised run.

Elinor Donahue, who played Betty Anderson on FKB, portrayed Judge Anderson on Y&R. She married the initial edition of ‘Villy’ in 2010, as TV devotees valued the inside joke.

So, why reference the old days now? Well, before Billy there was J.T. and Vickie has clearly expressed an interest in revisiting her backstory.

A separate wink at Y&R viewers is being offered as ‘JTV’ reconnects. Fans of Luckinbill and Heinle are wondering where the line between fiction and reality is because both actors were married (and had children) in real life until they, like J.T. and Victoria, divorced (which occurred less than a year ago). Now, back to Genoa City.

Considering that Mackenzie (most recently played by Clementine Ford) is seeking a divorce and that Vickie is single, it makes soap sense to believe that this one-time couple, who shares a child in Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu), could reunite. But is this implied notion actually a tease?

Luckinbill advised upon his return to Y&R in December that he anticipated his storyline lasting through at least February, or March. That information may have been measured, as informing the audience that J.T. was back indefinitely could be interpreted as a tip-off.

It’s intriguing to weigh the implications of a full-blown ‘JTV’ reunion in the near future. It’s also best to keep the reality of this back office decision secret so that fans can follow this once-married couple, while also wondering if the actors and the characters they play will rediscover love.
