The Young and the Restless RECAP Friday, August 17: Summer Makes Another Move On Billy

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Friday, August 17, 2018, reveals that at home Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) contemplates texting Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) to see how things are going with their daughter.

Nick Bribes Summer

At Jabot, Nick Newman tells Summer Newman (Hunter King) that he knows she can be bought. Nick then points out how she took a guys car in exchange for not telling his wife about their affair. Summer pouts.

Nick wants to know if they have a deal or not. Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) enters and asks what is going on. Summer shows Billy the check and says her dad is looking out for her financially. In the hall, Nick sends Phyllis Summers’ call to voicemail. Later, Phyllis arrives and asks Billy if he has seen Summer. Billy fills her in on Nick giving Summer money and Phyllis says she will have a talk with him about it.

Neil Asks Ashely Out

Over at the Abbott place, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) appears shirtless and tells Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) that he has been waxing his car. Ashley gets a call from Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) who asks her out for some live jazz.

Abby To Be Sharon’s Bridesmaid?

At Crimson Lights, Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela) listens to Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) talk about business until Sharon McAvoy (Sharon Case) approaches. Sharon asks Abby to be her bridesmaid. Abby thinks Nick Newman put her up to it. Sharon says she wants to mend fences. After, Abby tells Arturo about what happened with Scott Grainger (Daniel Hall) and Sharon.

Nick Feels Summer Doesn’t Love Him

At the Dive Bar, Summer Newman assures her father that she will not tell Billy Abbott what happened between him and Phyllis Summers. Nick throws up that she is doing it because he paid her and not out of love. Summer is upset about being judged.

Nick is disgusted by his Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) move, but is feeling hurt by his supergirl. Nick goes over to the bar and runs into Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) and introduces himself. Close by, Neil Winters and Ashley Abbott enjoy their night out. They chat about jazz. They talk about Billy Abbott then Neil’s kids. They dance and Neil takes her elsewhere.

Summer Tells Kyle She Wants Billy

At the Athletic Club, Summer Newman fills Kyle Abbott in on her dad paying her off. They bicker about their bet. Summer reveals she now wants a relationship with Billy Abbott. Phyllis Summers and Billy Abbott arrive. Billy heads back to the office and asks Summer to give her mom a ride home. Phyllis confronts Kyle about ratting her out.

Abby Agrees to Sharon’s Proposal

Nick Newman arrives at Crimson Lights where Sharon McAvoy and Abby Newman are going back and forth with one another. Sharon explains that she asked Abby to be in the wedding. Abby and Arturo Rosales go out on the patio.

Back inside, Rey arrives and Nick introduces him to Sharon. He asks them about a short-term rental before heading out. Abby comes back in and apologizes to Sharon after having a talk with Arturo. Abby agrees to be in the wedding. Nick makes a business proposition to Arturo and he accepts.

Phyllis and Summer Working On Their Relationship

At Summer Newman’s apartment, She and her mom chat. Phyllis tells Summer she is hurt that she agreed to keep quiet for Nick Newman and not her. They both agree to try to work on their relationship. Phyllis heads upstairs and Summer sneaks out.

Billy Is Annoyed with Summer

At Neil Winters penthouse, he and Ashley Abbott talk about their favorite jazz bands. He puts on some music and they start making out.

Back at Jabot, Billy Abbott is annoyed when Summer Newman shows up. She asks if he wants the same thing as her. He tells her the answer is no and will always be no. Billy tells her we’re done and leaves.

Rey Unraveling J.T.’s Disappearance 

In an unknown location, Rey sets up an evidence board with J.T. Hellstrom’s (Thad Luckinbill) picture in the center surrounded by photos of Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), Nick Newman, Sharon McAvoy, and Phyllis Summers around it.
