General Hospital Star Maurice Benard Shares Sneak Peek Of His New Project

General Hospital star and fan favorite Maurice Benard is well known for his role as Sonny Corinthos on the ABC soap opera.  And, it looks like Maurice Benard is using his fame to bring attention to a worth cause, Mental Health Awareness.

This week the Port Charles mobster took to Instagram and shared a sneak peek of a new project he has been working on, a photo shoot for the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

It’s no secret that Sonny Corinthos suffers from Bipolar Disease on the ABC soap opera, and Maurice Benard has even opened up about his own mental health issues in the past and even starred in “The Ghost And The Whale” to raise awareness.

Maurice and the NAMI organization are working hard to erase the stigmas associated with mental illness, and he is truly the perfect spokesperson for the organization.  We can’t wait to see what the photoshoot is all about!
