General Hospital News: Beware! This Is NOT Ryan Paevey!

It seems like this has been happening way too often to our favorite daytime television stars. As a matter of fact, there’s at least one case of a soap star falling victim to an online scam every week!

This time around it’s General Hospital star Ryan Paevey. The actor was shocked to find out that someone has been impersonating him online with a fake social media account.

It didn’t take Ryan very long to catch wind of what has been going on behind his back. Apparently, someone on Twitter has been impersonating him by using his name and picture and even a small bio description that was copied word for word from his own!

The giveaway, of course, was that the impersonator was asking for “DM’s only. For those not in the know, DM is short for “direct message” on the micro-blogging site.

Also, the fake account only had 40 followers while Ryan’s real account has about 78,000. Clearly, someone was trying to get away with making a duplicate account with Ryan Paevey’s name on it. Luckily, soap fans aren’t that gullible.

This same scam happened to The Young and the Restless star Doug Davidson nearly two weeks ago. Also, someone was trying to impersonate Kristoff St. John and even asked fans for money! The same happened to actor Stephen Nichols earlier this year. All of these fake accounts have since been taken down by Twitter.
