Days Of Our Lives Preempted – New May And June Schedule

Days of Our Lives fans are not going to like this. New reports indicate that NBC has decided to reduce the number of days that the long-running daytime television show will be aired each week. Instead of airing five days a week, the Peacock network will air the show three times a week in order to make room for the upcoming French Open in its daily line up.

According to reports, the preemptions will begin on May 28, which happens to be Memorial Day this year, and will last until June 7 or June 8, depending on how the tournament progresses. Soap Opera Spy will bring you all the latest updates as they come in.

Of course, this isn’t the first NBC has had to make some significant changes to its normal schedule in order to make room for a televised event. The network also made changes to its regular lineup during the 2016 Summer Olympics and more recently, the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.

Also, all the major networks has to make way for ‘The Great American Eclipse’ back in August last year. It resulted in a little schedule chaos, as fans in certain time zones were unable to catch episodes of their favorite soaps, including General Hospital, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful because the network news programs were covering the eclipse instead.
