Coronation Street Star Doreen Keogh Has Passed Away

Coronation Street Star Doreen Keogh Has Passed AwayCoronation Street alum and icon Doreen Keough is reportedly dead at 91 years old.  According to reports, Keough’s family says she passed away peacefully on New Year’s Eve.

Long time Corrie viewers will recall that Doreen Keough played the part of one of the ITV soap’s very first barmaids in the 1960’s.  Keough’s character Concepta Hewitt.

ITV released an official statement in The Mirror, expressing their condolences.  “Our thoughts are with the family as they mourn the passing of a wonderful person. And together with our audience we also mourn the passing of a very special actor.”

It’s truly a sad day for Corrie fans and Doreen’s family.  Keough was a part of Coronation Street’s rich history and her legacy will live on.
