The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Nick Considers Reconciling with Victor – Christmas Opportunity Approaches

Nick (Joshua Morrow) has been feeling blue on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He’s recently acknowledged that being out of the family loop has been hurtful. Then, this week, he told Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) that he still loves his father. So, an apparent opportunity for them to bond by Christmas has seemingly been proposed to the viewers.

Logic won’t bridge the emotional gap that exists between Nick and the ‘Moustache’. Both sides will need to bury some pride in order to reach an accord. If that sounds like a negotiation stance, it is, as Victor (Eric Braeden) often addresses personal matters as though they were business deals.

Chelsea received a tree-lighting invitation from Victor that also mentioned Connor (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) and Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen). Nick’s name wasn’t included, but might possibly still be added.

Y&R implied that a mending of fences could take place between both strong-willed Newman men. Father and son have often clashed, parted ways and then found their way back to each other. Yet, resulting scar tissue seemed to foster the ease of further breakups. So time will tell if Nick and Victor actually do get back together.

Nick was right to be appalled by his father’s link to Chloe’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) destructive actions. The self-appointed investigator learned that Victor was responsible for Chloe being able to leave the mental health facility in California and for subsequently framing Adam (Justin Hartley). Nick then tagged his dad as culpable for his brother’s death.

Victor didn’t turn on Nick because of what was revealed, as he understood his son’s reaction. However, the ‘Black Knight‘ became furious when Nick told Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Vickie (Amelia Heinle) what was learned shortly thereafter. Victor blamed Nick for the family strife that followed, instead of assuming responsibility as any balanced individual would have.

Nick, far more so than Victor, should be leery of reconnecting with the head of the Newman clan. However, emotions often overwhelm logic in the soap world and in the real one as well.
