The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Lily Has A Decision To Make – Cane Ready To Move On

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Lily Has A Decision To Make – Cane Ready To Move OnCane (Daniel Goddard) loves Lily (Christel Khalil) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He had hoped to reunite his family and add Sam to the mix, but feels that past circumstances were too much for his wife to accept. So Mr. Ashby is ready to move on.

People with excess cash hire nannies to watch a newborn baby. Middle and working class families rely on relatives and friends during those rare occasions when they aren’t able to be with their children during the most critical time of their lives. Split unions with mitigating circumstances fall somewhere in between the moral cracks.

Sam isn’t Lily’s child, he’s Cane’s through Juliet (Laur Allen). Miss Helton died due to complications from her diagnosed placenta previa condition. That left Cane as a single dad to his second-born son, even though he’s still married to Lily who’s the mother of Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Mattie (Lexie Stevenson). Ah soap, ah free will choices within some real worlds.

Compassion isn’t always easy to offer, as Lily knows. Redemption isn’t instantly achieved, if it ever is in certain instances, as Cane has come to see.

It’s not that Lily doesn’t love Cane. She’s said on various occasions since the Tokyo event was explained and Jesse’s (Max Adler) blackmail was revealed that love isn’t the issue. Trust is the point.

Will Cane maintain Lily’s trust in the future? That question has no answer as anything other than now is never certain.

All who cite Joe (Scott Elrod) as a reason why Lily has no ground to stand on are being overly dramatic. She never gave birth to Joe’s child. Separately, Lily never compromised the twin’s school fund as Cane did when he couldn’t handle his competitive feelings about his stepbrother Billy (Jason Thompson).

Cane may have lost hope, but Lily holds the cards now. And today, verses all those yesterday’s or perceived tomorrow’s is what she can directly focus on. Maybe Sam will prove key to ‘Lane’s’ reconciliation in the end.
