“The Walking Dead” season 8 premiere spoilers are rolling in and we have some new information. Even though some consider the war to be a frightening ordeal, it’s not all negative. Expect the upcoming battle to give the survivors a message of hope. Keep reading to find out what we mean.

In a sneak peek clip, Maggie (Lauren Cohan) is talking to the Hilltop Colony. As fans have already seen online, both Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Maggie want to push their communities to fight. How does one do that after everything that has happened?

Both leaders find a way. However, the war will not just be about death and physical battle scars. The upcoming trauma they are about to endure will be worth it in the end. Well, it turns out that fighting against somebody… fighting for something…. Is enough to give them hope.

As Andrew Lincoln stated in a recent issue of TV Guide magazine, war can have a positive meaning.

“Crazy as it sounds, war means hope. Everyone may end up dead, but there’s something wonderful and empowering about taking matters into our own hands.”

“The Walking Dead” season 8 premiere spoilers suggest that the actor is right. After being disrespected, mistreated, threatened and tormented for so long, they need drive. They need a purpose. They need something to bring life back into them again.

Now, Alexandria hasn’t been under Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) rule for very long. However, Hilltop has, as Jesus (Tom Payne) mentioned during his introduction.

With Maggie’s speech and a chance to finally live free, they will finally have that opportunity. Not merely physically surviving, but really living.
