The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Bill Breaks Down – Was He Playing Steffy?

Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) may be human after all on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’. A conversation with Liam’s (Scott Clifton) wife Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) seemingly revealed that Bill isn’t heartless, unless he was playing a role for her benefit.

Diamont’s acting in the referenced scene was spot on. Yes, it’s a jump, but projecting him toward an Emmy nomination (or win) feels right.

In that particular episode viewers couldn’t tell if Bill was sincerely sorry for what happened, or he was acting so that Steffy would relay what happened to Liam. Bill asked his daughter-in-law if she would tell him that he was sorry.

As for the right cross that the much stronger Bill laid on his son’s right eye, well, it left quite a mark. While initial regret wasn’t evidenced, the now former CEO of Spencer Publications appeared to feel distraught at having assaulted Liam.

Clifton’s work within this quickly developing arc is also solid. His presentation of Liam’s tortured mind expands the character beyond what’s been seen before. Soap fans count on fresh takes for longtime characters. B&B and the actor are doing well in this regard.

Tough love. That’s what Liam is practicing. He genuinely is trying to help his father by having forced him out of the family business. The bravery he demonstrated could develop into a turning point if Bill actually realizes his mistakes and seeks eventual redemption.

However, viewers saw that ‘Dollar Bill’ accepted a call from his fixer, Justin (Aaron Spears). Attorney Barber advised his true boss what Liam said at a called meeting and, per Bill’s imperative statement agreed to keep him informed of all changes that may take place at Spencer.

Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) should prove to be a key player in this Greek tragedy-like daytime drama. She knows Bill’s vulnerabilities, which could help or hurt him depending upon fluid circumstances.

But two early questions will have to do for now. Was Bill putting on a show for Steffy? Might he actually feeling regretful while also plotting his comeback?
