‘General Hospital’ News: Jeff Webber NOT Returning To Port Charles

A ‘General Hospital’ (GH)  spokesperson revealed some bad news for those who were anxious to see Jeff Webber return in whatever form. Last played by Richard Dean Anderson years ago, Soaps in Depth confirmed in their new magazine that neither him nor anyone else would be taking on the role anytime soon. A spokesperson for the daytime drama confirmed that they do not have any intention of bringing back Jeff in the near future.

A recent casting call from ‘General Hospital’ is what aroused the suspicion of the character’s resurrection. The call requested an actor who would fall in Jeff’s age range and since then the Internet has been ablaze with talks of his returning to Port Charles.

The idea of him being back wasn’t too far fetched considering all that is happening in Port Charles right now. Elizabeth [Rebecca Herbst] would have sure been happy to see daddy dearest in her condition. She’s suffered a great ordeal in recent time which includes her terrible fall down the stairs at the hospital. Surely seeing dear old dad would have helped reviving her.

Then her unbeknownst half sister Hayden Barnes [Rebecca Budig] would’ve finally come face to face with her father. Her entire life she went on believing a lie about her paternity not knowing Elizabeth is her sister. Wouldn’t it have been good to see Hayden and Jeff in father-daughter mode? And Hayden and Elizabeth’s reaction to the truth?

We’re sure many fans are disappointed upon learning Jeff is not returning anytime soon. We know many would’ve like to see him and Naomi [Robin Riker] at it as well as ex-wife Heather Webber [Robin Mattson]. And we would’ve love to see him explain Hayden’s paternity to Elizabeth.

Now that we know the casting call is not for Jeff, then who is the show looking to cast, any ideas? Are you still hoping Jeff returns in the near future?
