The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Graham Revelation Establishes Epic Battle – Jack and Ashley Prepare To Fight

Well, well, well. Graham (Max Shippee) was after Dina’s (Marla Adams) money on ‘The Young and the Restless’, or at least he’s okay with inheriting the bulk of her fortune. Two Abbott siblings smelled a gold-digger from the beginning and have been proven right. Now, the soapy war starts.

Jack (Peter Bergman) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) were suspicious of their mother’s latest man from the moment they met him.

Would snarky souls refer to Dina and Graham as ‘Gina’ or ‘Dham’? This scribe thinks readers likely prefer the latter.

In any event, Dina’s revelation that she’d changed her will and was leaving the bulk of her estate to Graham establishes battle lines.

Jack is familiar with having various parental will’s overturned, as longtime viewers recall.

During the last decade Jack worked to have not one, but two of his father’s final wishes rebuked. ‘Jackie-boy’s’ victories left Gloria (Judith Chapman) out in the cold with nary a penny of the Jabot fortune in her purse. Of course Jack’s legal wins make his current romantic connection with ‘Gloworm’ seem implausible. But this is daytime drama and therefore all is alright.

Would the more interesting storyline have been to place Graham as the good soul? The efforts he recently made to change Dina’s will could have left the bulk of Madame Mergeron’s estate to her children and grandchildren. Jack and Ashley would have eaten crow and Graham could have become a regular character.

Since the last paragraph was obviously rejected in Y&R’s writer’s room, the Abbott siblings will likely expose Graham’s motives, or Shippee’s character will somehow prove to be a phony in Dina’s eyes. And then he’ll be written out.

The likely arc-ending scenario isn’t uplifting, but should help to cement a full rapprochement between Dina and her family. She came to Genoa City seeking redemption. While it wasn’t her plan and will be emotionally rough, the projected ouster of Graham could be what Dina need to endure to gain her children’s full forgiveness and love.
