‘The Young and the Restless, ‘General Hospital’ and ‘Days of Our Lives’ cannot seem to gain back viewers in the women 18-49 category either. While ‘B&B’ grew its total viewership, the other three soaps showed losses.
Days of Our Lives
Soap Opera Network reports that 2,258,000 total viewers tuned in to watch ‘DAYS.’ This is a loss of 22,000 total viewers for the week. For this week 402,000 women ages 18 to 49 demographic watched ‘DOOL.’ This represents a loss of 9,000 for the week of April 4-8.
General Hospital
Total views for ‘GH’ were down from the previous week. 2,800,000 total viewers were watching tuned in April 4 through April 8. Those numbers represent a loss of 18,000 viewers. When it comes to women in the 18-49 demographic the soap had 451,000 viewers. That’s a decrease of 26,000 in this demographic.
The Bold and the Beautiful
‘B&B’ had 3,880,000 total viewers last week. That represents a gain of 49,000 overall viewers for April 4 through April 8. The numbers show that 515,000 women ages 18 through 49 tuned out. That a loss of 25,000 viewers in that category.
The Young and the Restless
Total viewership was down by 46,000 with 5,069,000 people watching ‘Y&R’ last week. Soap Opera Network reports that the CBS daytime drama took the biggest hit in the women 18-49 demographic with a loss of 77,000 viewers.
What is the reason for the decrease for all four daytime dramas for women ages 18-14? Why did three soaps take hits in total viewers for the week of April 4-8?
