‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Richard Burgi Discusses Paul Hornsby Serial Killer Reveal – What Is District Attorney’s Motive?

Finally viewers know who the Derisifol killer is on General Hospital – and it’s none other than Paul Hornsby [Richard Burgi]. Who could have predicted such as a twist? All along fingers were pointing at Franco [Roger Howarth], Dr. Maddox [Anthony Montgomery], Dr. Finn [Michael Easton] and Dr. Obrecht [Kathleen Gati] but now its official, the real killer is the District Attorney. It’s indeed a shock because no one actually saw this coming, not even the actor himself; nevertheless he spoke with Soap Opera Digest about the major story twist.

“I just found out kind of recently myself,” he shares as he spoke about being the serial killer. According to the article by SOD, Burgi was pulled aside while on set by EP Frank Valentini just a few weeks ago and was told. Burgi further highlighted “I have no idea where this is going, if this is the Dead Man walking part of Paul’s life. All I know is that when I read it, it’s kind of fun!”

Burgi is somewhat shocked but understands the writer’s decisions.  He strongly believes his character is somewhat complicated but has a difficult past that needs to be visited. “I’ve always considered the character very multifaceted and complex, tortured by his choices, the difficulties of his past, and also sanguine and optimistic about life in general,” he shares as he talks more in depth on his character becoming the killer.

Now the viewers finally know the killer’s identity, the Port Charles police department is not far behind. Very soon everyone will learn the killer’s identity but how will it affect his family and the rest of Port Charles? In an earlier interview Co-Head writers Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman spoke about the killer sharing that “he has a very specific agenda and there is a bit of a time clock completing his agenda”. So when the truth is finally uncovered how will it affect his son Dillon [Robert Palmer Watkins] and Tracy [Jane Elliott] and the rest of Port Charles?
