The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) isn’t gone from Genoa City after all.
In fact, during the week of October 12-16, he makes himself right at home in the last place anyone would expect.
Following a car crash, a bump on the head, and a quick stop at his cheap motel, Matt decides to take a nap at Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) house.
Key Takeaways
- Matt returns to Genoa City.
- Sharon discovers an unwanted guest.
- Matt asks Sharon for help.
- Nick races to protect Sharon.
- Phyllis could become involved.
- What Is Matt Clark Thinking?
Before settling down for his unexpected snooze, Good Matt and Bad Matt have it out at the motel.
For some reason, Matt decides Sharon is the person who can help him through his volatile state.
Considering their history, that’s quite a choice!
When Sharon discovers the troublemaker on her new couch, she’s understandably stunned.
After all, Matt previously called her without saying a word.
Now he’s suddenly made himself comfortable in her home as though he belongs there.
Matt Wants Sharon’s Help
Y&R spoilers indicate that Sharon will face a major dilemma during the October 14 episode.
Will she recognize that Matt isn’t thinking clearly and attempt to help him?
Or will she decide enough is enough and call the Genoa City Police Department?
After all, Matt’s involvement with fugitive Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) gives Sharon plenty of reasons to be suspicious.
She certainly doesn’t owe him anything.
But Sharon has a history of trying to help troubled people, even when doing so puts her in danger.
Could her compassion become her biggest mistake?
Sharon Deserves Better Than This
Spoilers reveal that Sharon will summon Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), who races over to make sure she’s safe.
However, we’re not entirely convinced Sharon is thinking clearly herself because she apparently allows Matt to stay!
That’s all kinds of crazy considering their history.
Fans will see Matt sleeping on Sharon’s new sofa, where his inner demons could start battling it out all over again.
Given Matt’s track record, there’s no telling whether his sinister side will ultimately take control.
That’s exactly why Sharon should think twice before offering him a place to stay.
And Nick certainly won’t be thrilled about this arrangement.
Could Phyllis Save The Day?
Then again, Matt seems to respond surprisingly well to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).
Could Sharon and Nick decide to call Phyllis and ask her to talk some sense into him?
They might want to reconsider that idea since Phyllis isn’t exactly an angel herself.
Still, Phyllis appeared disappointed when Matt decided to leave town.
Perhaps she’d actually be happy to see him again.
If anyone can handle Matt’s unpredictable personality, Phyllis might be willing to give it a try.
But would bringing her into the situation help calm Matt down or make everything worse?
Is Matt Really All Bad?
Matt’s ongoing struggle between his good and evil sides raises some interesting questions.
Is there genuinely a part of him that wants to change, or is his darker nature simply too powerful to overcome?
Nick has every reason to despise Matt, so he isn’t exactly objective when it comes to giving him another chance.
Sharon, on the other hand, may believe there’s still something worth saving.
But is she putting herself in danger by trying to help someone with such a disturbing past?
Y&R spoilers point to more Matt drama ahead, and the outcome could surprise everyone.
Editor’s Take
I cannot believe Sharon is even considering letting Matt stay in her house!
After everything he’s done, the last thing she needs is that man sleeping on her couch.
And I don’t blame Nick for being worried.
Matt may be struggling with his darker side, but that doesn’t mean Sharon should put herself in danger trying to save him.
As for Phyllis, I actually think bringing her into this mess could make things even more interesting.
But knowing Phyllis, she might end up creating more trouble than she solves!
What do you think? Should Sharon help Matt, call the police, or let Phyllis deal with him?
