Salem & Genoa City Hit Netflix Canada
According to reports, Netflix Canada will begin streaming past catalogue episodes that have already aired for both The Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives starting on Monday, October 26.
As of this writing, it seems to be an exclusive offer only available to Canada Netflix users.
With that said, new episodes of both daytime dramas will continue to be available via Canada’s Corus Entertainment.
Soap History
The Young and the Restless continues to dominate the top spot in soaps, as it centers on the lives and romances of residents living in Genoa City. The soap originally hit the airwaves in March 1973 and will celebrate its 54th season this week on Thursday, October 8.
In addition, there will be a new feel to the storylines as new co-head writers, Jamey Giddens and Dan O’Connor’s material starts airing as of November 11. Episodes are available on Paramount +.
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of Our Lives, that famous tagline from the soap has been entertaining fans since November 1965!
While it was originally on NBC, its move to streamlining platform Peacock in September 2022 hasn’t slowed the series’ momentum down one bit! Cable, shmable, right?
In fact, it’s so popular that Peacock has renewed the daytime drama into the 2027/28 season.
The long-running soap focuses on the ups and downs of Salem residents, as the Hortons, Bradys, DiMeras, and Kiriakises try to co-exist and stir up the drama.
