The popular Yellowstone spinoff has been renewed for a second season, but it could be over a year before the new episodes are available to watch on Paramount Plus. Keep reading for all the details!
Dutton Ranch Gets Second Season
Paramount Plus has another hit on their hands! Dutton Ranch premiered on the streaming app in May 2026.
The Yellowstone spinoff was highly anticipated by fans of the canceled series and Beth Dutton & Rip Wheeler did not disappoint.
A month after the premiere, Dutton Ranch was breaking streaming records. Paramount announced in June that they had already renewed the new western for season 2.
Paramount shared an official statement in June regarding Dutton Ranch Season 2. The president of the network teased, “Dutton Ranch has resonated with audiences in a powerful way, building on the legacy of beloved characters, while establishing its own identity.
We look forward to bringing fans more stories from these unforgettable characters in Season Two.”
This actually isn’t the network’s first attempt at a Yellowstone spinoff. First Paramount + released two prequels to the series, appropriately titled 1883 and 1923.
There’s also a third prequel called 1944 that is still in production and won’t be released until probably next year.
Aside from the Yellowstone prequels, in 2026 Paramount released two spinoffs. Dutton Ranch follows Beth and Rip at the Ranch.
Meanwhile, Marshalls follows Kaycee Dutton (Cole Hauser) as he starts a new life in Texas.
When Will Dutton Ranch Season 2 Come Out
Dutton Ranch’s finale just aired on Paramount on Friday, July 3 2026. As of right now, there’s probably not even a script written for a second season yet.
Then it has to go through casting, filming, production, etc. By the time that Dutton Ranch Season 2 is on Paramount it could 2028!
