Liam Spencer shared some big scenes this week with his brother Wyatt Fuller on The Bold and the Beautiful. But, all eyes were actually on Liam’s black eye.
In fact, Scott Clifton’s swollen eye had to be written in to the script because it was impossible not to acknowledge it.
The CBS soap fan fave recently took to Instagram and explained how he was injured.
Liam’s New Look
When Scott Clifton debuted Liam Spencer’s new look on Bold & Beautiful, fans were concerned about the actor’s noticeable black eye and swollen face.
The actor explained that he was going through some personal stuff and has been exhausted. Apparently, Clifton got out of bed at home and passed out in his bathroom and gave himself a concussion.
Calling Dr. Finn! The Bold and Beautiful star shared a series of gruesome photos on social media showing off his injuries.
Clifton explained to his followers, “I’d just come off of a particularly stressful day managing a crisis to do with my 81-year old mother (everyone’s fine), couldn’t sleep and got up in the middle of the night—a little too quickly, apparently—to use the bathroom.”

The Liam Spencer portrayer added on Instagram, “I woke up slumped over the edge of the bathtub, upper body mangled inside of it with my feet draped outside. Blood everywhere, a splitting headache, and an impregnable determination to claw my way to a mirror and see just how much extra work I’d created for the B&B makeup department in a few short hours.”
Apparently, Clifton’s injuries weren’t just on the exterior. He also suffered a concussion and was warned by the doctors that he could experience some issues with his memory and concentration. Did you notice Liam’s black eye on the CBS soap?
