Tina Peters Controversy Rages As Prison Video Emerges

Tina Peters is polarizing because of the simple fact that she ended up jailed over an election. You might recall that the former Mesa County Clerk became a big talking point around political debate and now she’s back in the headlines.

A Colorado Prison Scuffle

On January 18, a video caught by cameras at the La Vista Correctional Facility showed Tina and another inmate in what seemed to be a physical encounter. Somehow, 9 News got ahold of it, and it landed up on more than one social media platform.

On YouTube, people from differing sides of the political spectrum had a lot to say about it. Obviously, her history makes her some sort of lightning rod for true crime and political arguments. And, the clip was a short one, showing nothing of what came before the video started.

What The Video Showed

The news comes at a tense time, especially since she’s already a lightning rod for political debate. In the video, folks could see Peters pushing a cart through a doorway. Another woman was there, following her and suddenly, it showed Peters place her hands around the other woman’s neck. But some viewers opined that she simply put her hands on her shoulders.

It doesn’t help that there wasn’t any sound on the reel. However, folks could see that Tina Peters pushed the woman away from her. For now, it’s anyone’s guess what was said or done to make the scuffle happen.

People See What They Want To See

In the various comments on social media, people see things differently, and that’s because of the big divide between conservatives and liberals these days.

If you don’t know, her arrest and imprisonment came after allegations she’d tried to fix election results for Trump to win. Meanwhile, she claimed she was trying to investigate alleged fraud. Anyway, that didn’t stop her from going to prison.

Contradictions Arise

These days, it seems that even President Trump can’t help her because she was tried at State Level. So, his pardon carries no weight with the state. For now, she serves her nine-year prison sentence and is likely to continue to do so. But, there are efforts getting traction that she might be freed.

Reports note that the current physical incident had Peters’ team claiming she was punished after an unprovoked attack. BOP officials say she was simply moved to another unit. And for now, an investigation is ongoing.

Comments Are Polarizing

In the comments section, as you can imagine, some folks felt bad for Peters and others hoped she’d be severely punished.

One of them opined, “This doesn’t show the whole incident. Almost as if they removed the beginning part.”

Here are a few more repsonses:

  • They refuse to show the full 4 minutes because it shows the other woman instigated. Shame on this “channel.”
  • An obvious frame job. Colorado is a disgraceful state.
  • this a hit piece , Peters was followed into a store room with no security cameras in the storeroom. it was self defence the inmate followed her in behind…
  • Lol. She belongs to the system now.
  • Obviously Tina feels as if she’s better than everyone else even in prison. She’s pissed that her hero Trump can’t get her out.
