Recap of Survivor 51, Episode 6 – Summit Twist
Tree Mail shocks all three tribes, as it invites one person from each tribe to attend a “Summit.”
As this could be an opportunity to gain an advantage, all three tribes had plenty of volunteers who wanted to go.
Sharonda won the draw at Dena (Pink), as Cristian sneakily held Lewis and Kilby’s names when drawing to ensure they stayed back.
Meanwhile, Ori won the draw at Savu (Purple), and everyone at Toka (Yellow) encouraged Kristin to go, a majority decision to ensure that Mike wouldn’t be an option if they drew.
When Kristin, Sharonda, and Ori met up at the Summit, they shared a happy “OGs” Savu reunion and swapped intel about their current tribe situations.
At the Summit, they are asked to send two people back to their tribes with lunch – corn and ribs – while the other person spends a night on Exile Island.
The person who goes to Exile also gets the “Tethered Idol.” This new idol can only be used by the player who possesses it and can only be used on the two other players at the Summit, up until the final five.
Recap of Survivor 51, Episode 6 – Kristin Holds The Power
Kristin volunteers to go on Exile and take the idol.
While Sharonda and Ori aren’t entirely okay with it, there’s a bit of relief from both of them.
With that being said, once Kristin gets to Exile, she finds out more about the “Tethered” idol.
It seems that if she’s still around in the game and Sharonda and Ori are not, then this idol can be used on herself and becomes a regular idol.
The new advantage adds another layer to the game, which has already seen plenty of surprises, including the Extra Vote chaos and shocking blindsides leading into Episode 6.
Recap of Survivor 51, Episode 6 – Who Got Voted Off?
This week’s challenge offered immunity for two tribes that finished the course and were able to solve a puzzle at the end.
Sadly, for Savu, Dena and Toka won immunity, sending the purple tribe to Tribal Council.
It was Devin, Ori, and Jelly’s worst nightmare come true.
While the three are friends, Jelly and Devin have a close bond.
Ori is clearly the target; however, Jelly does admit to having a hidden immunity idol.
Ori tries to persuade both Devin and Jelly to vote against each other; however, he quickly realizes that his only chance of staying alive in this game is to tap into the Shot in the Dark.
He does so at Tribal Council but gets a “not safe” card and is essentially voted out by Jelly and Devin.
As the previous Tribal Council’s dramatic deadlock demonstrated, alliances can change the game in an instant.
On The Next Survivor
The preview for Episode 7 is out, and Survivor 51 spoilers imply that things are going to get crazy next week as all three tribes merge into one!
While there is celebration when Jeff Probst first announces it, once everyone gets to camp, chaos erupts!
Brady and Kilby are talking to Kristin, as they tell her, “People are lying right to our faces.”
Meanwhile, Maggie tells someone, “She’s the white whale,” while Jelly says, “He’s a child!” Then Mike declares to someone, “It’s the end of your game tonight.”
Kristin is shown in a confessional shrugging her shoulders and saying, “That guy!” as Brady tells Maggie, “He’s a piece of garbage, he’s done!”
After the earlier tribe swap and Blood Ring drama, this merge could shake up the remaining alliances all over again.
It looks like the poop will hit the fan (if there was one in Fiji) come next Wednesday, November 4!
Annemarie’s Take
I think Kristin made a pretty bold move volunteering for Exile Island, especially with that unusual Tethered Idol in play. But now that Ori is gone, things could get very interesting if Sharonda gets voted out, too!
I’m also excited about the merge. After all the shifting alliances and betrayals, putting everyone together in one camp is practically guaranteed to cause trouble. And judging by that preview, Brady, Maggie, and Mike are not holding back!
