If you’re a fan of Steve Burton (Jason), you no longer have to wait for him to return to General Hospital. According to spoilers, Steve Burton returns to film episodes in June 2026. Port Charles will never be the same.
The actor confirmed that he is returning to the show sooner than everyone thought. He revealed on his podcast, That’s Awesome, that he’s returning to the soap opera in June. People asked him when he would return, and he had an answer.
General Hospital tapes four-to-six weeks in advance so his episodes should air between July and August. He’s back in time for summer sweeps.
The last time Jason was shown was on March 25, 2026. His character was taken into the WSB transport van while Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) watched.
Danny was told that he would never see his father again. Brennan (Chris McKenna) told Carly (Laura Wright) that Jason was going to be at the WSB black site in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Jason was charged with the attempted murder of WSB Director Cullum (Andrew Hawkes). As GH fans know, Jason wasn’t the one who shot Cullum.
He took the wrap for Rocco (Finn Carr) to protect him. Jason did something only he would do. His move stirs up trouble for the WSB.
The story just took an interesting turn. Cullum woke up from his coma, and he knows that Jason is innocent. Rocco confessed to shooting Cullum to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud).
His guilt will get the better of him. With an extra person knowing the truth, someone is going to crack under the pressure. It lines in perfectly with Jason’s return.
Will Rocco’s confession make it to Port Charles the same week that Jason returns? Could Rocco’s confession lead to Jason getting out of the Jakarta cell? A lot of people will be affected by Rocco’s confession and Jason’s return.
Problems are brewing between Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and Cullum. As fans know, Cullum is responsible for Sidwell’s son’s death. That pain will never heal. He’s seeking revenge for his son’s death. When Sidwell finds out that Cullum is responsible, he will make him pay.
If Cullum dies, Britt loses the medication she needs to save her life. Britt needs Jason more than ever. His return to Port Charles is needed now more than ever.
When Jason reunites with Sonny (Maurice Benard) things take a turn for the worse for Sidwell. Sidwell’s empire will crumble. Jason’s return is a reminder that he’s the most dangerous man on the show. People underestimate him until it’s too late.
Will Jason make Cullum pay for what he’s doing to Britt? Can he save Britt before Cullum destroys her life? Expect GH to heat up with Jason’s return.
