Prince Harry may have left his working Royal Family days behind, but he is still operating as if he were one. In fact, in some twisted way, he seems to still believe he is one.
After all, it hasn’t been that long ago when he actually declared that he is “a Prince of England and a Duke.” These titles, in case you missed it, were listed under his occupations.
But, is it time for the Prince to actually move on and start planning his life as someone who has finally moved on from the job he left behind? Royal reporter Emily Andrews thinks it’s high time he does exactly that.
Prince Harry Is Chasing Reconciliation and Drama at the Same Time, Expert Says
Writing in News, Emily Andrews observed that Harry’s drama is nowhere near the point of boiling down.
“His hoped-for family reunion unravelled into an unseemly row over who said what, when, where could people stay and why exactly he feels unsafe in the UK,” she wrote, adding, “Last week I explored all the behind-the-scenes drama and this week I report why William feels betrayed and possibly even humiliated. But amid all the fire, fury and counter-briefing, I also wanted to convey some of the sadness.”
This “sadness,” according to Andrews stems from the paranoia Harry still feels following the death of his mother when he was 12. Per Andrews, young Harry blamed the media and the lack of security for his mother’s death, and so his fixation with security was sadly born.
Even so, Andrews notes that his current performance to gain security “seems like an overreaction.”
“Yet his dithering, paranoia and indecision all served to turn his UK trip into a circus. He tried to bounce the Home Office into giving him Metropolitan Police guards (who can carry guns) and seemed to think that bringing his children would sway it. It didn’t work,” Andrews wrote.
Instead of trying to do everything low-key, Harry turned his children’s first visit to the UK since 2022 into a circus.
The reason he coudn’t pull off a low-key visit, per Andrews, is because Harry is “trying to combine the two things – his family and his work – that has proved so difficult. He is no longer a working royal. And so can’t act like one.”
On the other hand, Meghan is still teasing details from their UK trip to this day.
