The last couple of months have been anything but fun and games for the Royal Family. From the nasty revelations about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and ex Sarah Ferguson, which indeed worked to complicate even their daughters, to the rising unrest on how royal funds are spent, the Royal Family has weathered a tumultuous few weeks.
But out of troubled times, Prince William has reportedly risen up to the challenge, becoming heavily involved in navigating the Monarchy’s future.

Last month, on the very day that the former Duke of York was meant to celebrate his 66th birthday, he was arrested and taken to the police station over suspicions of misconduct in public office.
Since then, there’s been a clear distancing from Andrew and his family, and even perhaps the Sussexes.
“William, I think, is calling more of the shots now. So there’s definitely a change going on, and I get the sense also that there’s a bit of distancing even from the Sussexes, clearly from the Waleses,” royal author, Andrew Lownie, said.
Lownie also touched on the Monarchy’s clear stance regarding Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, noting that the decision to do so might have come about as a result of pressure from William.
“I think the decision to ban them from Ascot is interesting. The line that they’re pushing is that they were never going to go to Ascot in the first place, and it does seem odd to be so public about this distancing,” he explained, adding, “They could have just quietly said to them, ‘Listen, you know, please don’t turn up’. So, I think it is a very clear indication that the Royal Family either know something or suspect something, and they therefore feel the need to distance themselves from the daughters.”
“Now, this could be pressure from William. Charles may be changing his mind. He has been, of course, very sympathetic to them over the last few months,” he further added on The Lownie Report Podcast.
However, for a former BBC royal correspondent, the Royal Family should go a step further than distancing and strip Eugenie and Beatrice of their titles.
She told the Mirror: “I don’t think either of them has ever flaunted their titles, but there’s obviously a huge cachet in some circles about being called a princess. A title like that opens doors and sets up connections, which both Beatrice and Eugenie have used to their advantage.”
The expert further advised the Princesses to sever links with the “tarnished” York name, and use their married names instead.
