Fun Harry seems to be a thing that we don’t see so often these days, at least not in the eyes of royalists who aren’t happy the Prince chose to swing for the opposite court by publicly trashing his family. These days, Prince Harry has settled into life in California, with a steadiness and flow that often comes with becoming a dad.
He does his guest speaking appearances and engages in the occasional faux-royal tours with his wife, but the spark of the ginger is not something that so readily burns these days. This once-upon-a-time close family member has noticed.
This Royal Family Member Remembers Time When Prince Harry Was Fun
Former rugby player and husband to Prince Harry’s cousin Zara Tindall, Mike Tindall, mentioned the former working royal in passing during his recent live appearance at the Hay Literary Festival.
At the festival, which took place in Powys, Wales, Mike took the stage alongside his ‘The Good, The Bad and The Rugby’ podcast co-hosts James Haskell and Alex Payne.
At one point, Mike tended to recall his 2011 wedding to Zara with nearly pinpoint accuracy, noting that pal Haskell managed to not embarrass himself during the big event.
“A lot of other people managed that way better than you – [like] Harry, when he was fun,” Mike quipped, per Hello! Magazine.
If you remember that Mike’s wedding was attended by Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, the future King Charles, Princess Anne, Prince William, Princess Kate, as well as other members of the Royal Family, you can understand why nerves might have been flying through the roof on that special day.
Prior to Harry’s disastrous fallout with the Royal Family, Harry was close to his first cousin Zara, who he grew up with in the royal fold as grandchildren of the late Queen Elizabeth.
In fact, a little known fact is that Harry was key to bringing Zara and Mike together. However, these days, the Tindalls appear much closer to the Waleses than to the Sussexes.
The Tindalls currently share three children, Mia, 12, Lena, 7, and Lucas, 5. Harry is Lena’s godfather.
