I’m sure nobody wants to work in an environment where they’re constantly degraded and made to feel a little bit less than a human.
Apparently, this reason alone was enough to scare housekeeping applicants from the Sussexes’ doors, despite the amount of prestige one would gain from just working for them.
Per a report by Page Six, Meghan’s alleged bad treatment of staff really got around in Hollywood and caused the Sussexes some hiring problems.
Lots of People Reportedly Didn’t Want To Work For Meghan Markle
When bullying claims follow you across the ocean, I guess people start to take it seriously.
The bullying claims reported by the UK staff was immediately dismissed in the name of “targeted smear campaign,” but the one happening right there in Hollywood could not be brushed off so easily.
Last year, reports by The Hollywood Reporter and Variety arrived, labeling the Duchess a bully and a difficult person to work for. In fact, the story went further to claim that she reduced grown men to tears.
Apparently, not many people were willing to stick their necks out long enough to want to work for Meghan Markle after that.
“She had trouble hiring maids because a lot of the housekeepers in Montecito didn’t want to work for them,” a source exclusively told Page Six.
“Meghan would interview people herself and could come across as really snobbish and rude,” the insider added. “Some of them were so offended by the way she spoke to them that word started getting around.”
Just recently, Richard Eden wrote an interesting article on Meghan’s alleged bullying, recalling one incident when the Duchess completely ignored a Sloane girl, who was ushered into her office on the account of a job.
“For what seemed like an eternity, she kept her eyes down, ignoring the girl completely. Then she glanced up, examined her, then went back to her work. ‘You can leave,’ she said. And that was that,” Eden wrote in his Daily Mail column.
This is coming just as the couple has announced their plans to move the family back to the UK. They’re probably packing up their things as we speak, since, according to PEOPLE, they’re due to arrive in time for the new school session this September.
