King Charles and Queen Camilla’s US visit came a short while after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle completed their much-criticized “faux” royal tour of Australia.
And for two people who quit their roles as working royals for privacy, they sure did not get a lot of that during their Australian tour.
And to add to this, Meghan is beginning to roll out her kids, titles and all, to promote her As Ever products, further sparking tensions between the Sussexes and the Palace. But where does King Charles’ US visit leave them exactly?
Meghan Markle Furious Over King Charles’ Meeting With the Trumps
Shortly after their controversial exit from the Royal Family, Harry and Meghan appeared on Oprah to talk about their royal fallout.
During the tell-all, Meghan confessed to feeling that the Palace was not doing their utmost to protect her from media criticisms. Now, sources are convinced Charles’ meeting with US President Donald Trump have rubbed her in the wrong way.
The reason for this is obviously because of Trump’s negative views of the couple, which he has publicly expressed on several occasions. For example, in one interview, Trump publicly declared that Harry has a “bad” wife.
Of course, if you heard that your inlaws would be dining with the same person who questioned your character and honor as a wife, you might be none too pleased too.
But all that aside, sources are claiming that Harry is on “tenterhooks” in his bid to reconcile with his family, so chooses not to act out about this.
“Harry is doing his best to stay pragmatic and anytime questions about why Charles is meeting with Trump come up, he’s quick to point out that it’s simply part of his father’s role. But he does admit that the whole situation has been keeping him up at night,” the source said.
“Of course, it’s tough for Harry to sit on the sidelines while his dad breaks bread with someone who seems to want to have him and his wife thrown out of the country.”
As for Meghan’s take on the situation, the source added, “In her view, this is exactly the kind of situation where Harry should be standing his ground, not making excuses for his father. Meghan is fuming and saying it sends the wrong message if they let this go unchallenged.”
Harry’s continued silence over this is said to have left Meghan fuming, because she doesn’t get why he chooses not to publicly act against King Charles and Queen Camilla.
“But his stance is that they need to keep their eyes on the prize and not do anything that could jeopardise their long-term goal of rebuilding their relationship with his family,” the source shared.
