Dr. Addison Montgomery Is Back In Action
Grey’s Anatomy fans hadn’t seen Addison Montgomery on the primetime drama in over three years. Kate Walsh joined the Grey’s cast in Season 2 (2005) as Dr. Montgomery, she left the series in Season 8 (2012) after a seven year run. Then back in 2019 the actress began making sporadic appearances again.
Kate Walsh’s character was always known as the “other woman” in Meredith Grey’s (Ellen Pompeo) romance. When she arrived in season 2 it was revealed that she was the estranged wife of Meredith’s love interest Derek (Patrick Dempsey).
Dr. Addison Montgomery returned to the canvas this week in desperate need of Amelia’s help on one of her patients.
Kate Walsh Talks Grey’s Return
While promoting Dr. Montgomery’s return this week, the popular actress sat down with Variety Magazine and opened up about going back to work.
Walsh dished in Variety, “There’s a part of my psyche that will always be reserved space for Addison. It’s so nice. It’s more like putting on a worn but comfortable glove that I could just go right into. All the metaphors are just so cheesy, but it’s like going home.”
