GH Star Shares Health Scare, Emergency Surgery Update

General Hospital fans just said goodbye to fan fave Chris McKenna on the ABC soap opera.  Since Jack Brennan’s exit from the daytime show, the popular actor had a real-life health scare.  Luckily, it looks like he may be on the mend.  Keep reading for all of the details!

Chris McKenna Updates Fans

This week Chris McKenna took to social media and shared some news with his followers.

Apparently, the former General Hospital cast member went in for some routine dental work and received unexpected news.  McKenna revealed that he had cyst in his mouth and it was eating away his jawbone!

The Jack Brennan portrayer explained on “X,” formerly known as Twitter, what was going on with his health.

The GH star wrote, “I had a broken crown fixed last month and they discovered a spot on my x-ray. Turns out I need emergency surgery in the morning to remove a cyst that has eaten away my jawbone and have a bone graft.”

The soap star still has quite the sense of humor and jokingly added, “Good thing I broke that tooth! This is gonna hurt but lucky we caught it.”

What’s Next For Chris McKenna

McKenna checked back in with his followers on “X” today and shared a positive update.  The actor revealed that his surgery went smoothly and he’s on the road to recovery.  He joked along with his followers and teased, “The good news is I’m gonna be on pain meds for weeks and my tweets might be hilarious.”

Since exiting General Hospital this fall, McKenna hasn’t booked any new roles.  In fact, he seems to be steering away from acting and has revealed that he’s been working on a script that he wrote.
