GH Spoilers: Ric’s Renewed Attitude – Swerve Payback Plan?

General Hospital spoilers reveal that Ric Lansing’s (Rick Hearst) new lease on life feels a little too good to be true. He seems committed to proving himself to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his family in an effort to rebuild old bonds.

But you know the old saying, sometimes if it’s too good to be true, it usually is! Is Ric’s renewed attitude a swerve for a payback plan?

Ric Lansing Claims He’s Changed

General Hospital spoilers for the Monday, February 23 episode had a scene between Ric and Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn). Ric talked about how his time away really changed him and that he realized how important family was.

Sure, he has Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos), but other than that, if he were ever truly a goner, he believed no one else would miss him.

Ric went on to explain how Sonny and his kids are the only family he has left, and he wants to work at re-establishing a relationship.

With that said, is Ric being genuine, or is he playing Mr. Nice Guy to swerve an enemy for payback?

The Hostage Situation Was Brought Up

During their chat in Alexis’s office, his hostage situation was brought up. Fans recall that Alexis, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi), and Ava Jerome (Maura West) kept Ric tied up in Alexis’s basement for a long while.

Which begs the question: is Ric pretending to be a changed man because he’s got a plan of revenge against Alexis and Kristina?

It would be brilliant of him to cozy up to Sonny, as if his mob boss brother gave his stamp of approval with Ric, others would follow. It would be a sure-fire way to have Kristina drop her guard where her ‘uncle’ was concerned!

Still, another motivation could be Elizabeth “Liz” Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst), as she’s given her ex another chance. The two had a very nice Valentine’s Day date, so perhaps Ric’s new leaf has nothing to do with revenge, but rather, romance!
