Dean Geyer is set to debut any day now as the hot new doctor in town. But, sources say the new character has some old links to Port Charles.
When the soap announced the casting last month, showrunners confirmed the moniker was a homage to GH fan fave Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio). Longtime viewers know that Robert Scorpio spent time in Australia, and that’s where Dr. Tristan Roberts is from!

According to General Hospital spoilers, Tristan moves to Port Charles for a fresh start. The soap’s head writer Chris Van Etten told Soap Opera Digest, “Tristan is an accomplished surgeon, witty and unflappable. He arrives in town seeking a fresh start with a new job at the hospital.”
Rumors began circulating after the soap’s casting announcement that Dr. Tristan Rogers could be a long lost son of Robert Scorpio’s, and the soap’s writing team seems to be confirming that theory.

Van Etten went on to dish, “a clean break with his past will prove difficult when he discovers his adopted home is host to more than a few connections to a life he left behind.”
Any General Hospital viewer can tell you that several characters have traveled to and from Australia on the soap opera. Jasper Jacks, Ethan Lovett, and Emma Sutton are just a few examples. But, the fact that they named the character after Tristan Rogers seems to be dead giveaway.
