With him, Jason Morgan will be absent too, and we don’t have enough details yet to paint a picture of how Stone Cold will manage to exit the canvas for that long.
He’s been pretty committed to staying local, raising his son, being there for talks about girls, and proving he’s not going to ditch Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) again. So I can’t see him voluntarily dipping out for that long.
Whatever takes him away, it’s likely it won’t be on his own volition, and it could be something that looks more permanent than Burton’s announcement alluded to.
Bonjour?
Jason could traipse off to France to rescue Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), but being gone for several months doesn’t sound like something he would volunteer for at this juncture.
Remember that just last week, he turned down the opportunity to head over there because he felt it was more pressing that he stick it out with Britt and not abandon her in such a desperate time of need.
Those circumstances haven’t changed. So I don’t foresee Jason taking off for a whole season.
Furthermore, he’s been committed to staying as present as possible for Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) since Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) died, leaving him as the only parent around for their son.
GH Spoilers Report Sam May Have More to Do With This Than We Thought
Recall that a rumor started circulating about a month ago that Sam might also be making her way back to Port Charles.
Yes, I know — another person coming back from the dead. But this is the time to pull it off, it appears. It’s said that a leading man had been bugging Frank Valentini about getting their former partner back on the show, and Sam fit the blank space perfectly.
Could it be that Steve Burton has been advocating for her return, particularly during his own hiatus so Danny still has a parent around? If so, we’ve got big surprises on the horizon.
The Same Old Song and Dance
Fan reactions across the board aren’t encouraging. While some are cutting GH writers some slack and seem more willing to go with the flow, others are ruffled by the thought of yet another “Jason dies!” storyline. Can we blame them?
We’ve seen this rinse and repeat a few too many times for comfort, and it’s never been okay with us — not once. Besides, dying for just a few months doesn’t make for the most shocking comeback. Britt grieving him all over again just like last time? Eh, come on.
