General Hospital viewers adore Maxie and Nathan’s son James Malcolm West on the ABC soap. Child actor Gary James Fuller is a fan fave and has played the part of James since 2023.
Fuller took to Instagram and shared a scary update with fans and revealed that he just spent a week in the hospital after a serious accident. Keep reading for all the details!
General Hospital Star In Accident
James West is notoriously clumsy and constantly getting injured on General Hospital. It turns out that the character’s portrayer is just as accident prone!
Fuller is home and recovering now, but he revealed on his Instagram page that he was in a scary mini bike accident and ended up having to have TWO surgeries.
The General Hospital cast member jokingly updated his followers on social media about his recent trip to the hospital.
The youngster wrote, “If you watch General Hospital, you know James has spent his fair share of time in the ER. Apparently I decided that playing him wasn’t enough—I had to try it myself,. What started as a ride on my mini bike turned into a trip to the trauma center, two surgeries, and almost a week in the hospital. Definitely not how I planned to spend my week.”
Will James West Be Recast?
It’s unclear how long the young actor will be off from work to recover form his injuries. Right now, Maxie and Spinelli are gone off on an indefinite road trip and James West is staying with his Grandma.
His “Dad” Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) is pretty busy feeding his hostage and working a full-time job, so James might not have many scenes coming up this summer.
