General Hospital Officially Cuts Ties With Kirsten Storms

Last week General Hospital fan fave Kirsten Storms took to social media and broke her silence after being written off the soap and taken to court by her ex Brandon Barash.

Storms’ downward spiral was well-documented on the web over the years, but the Maxie Jones portrayer implied she would be back to work soon.

A few days later GH set the record straight on Storms’ status at the daytime show.

General Hospital Says Goodbye

After weeks of pretending Maxie Jones didn’t exist on the ABC soap opera, the writers finally addressed her absence on GH.

On the July 23 episode of General Hospital, it was revealed that Maxie Jones and Damien Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) wouldn’t be returning to Port Charles.  In fact, they packed their family up and left the country and will now be living in Australia.

Kirsten Storms has been coming and going on General Hospital for a few years now.  After the actress was hospitalized with a brain tumor a few years ago, she was cleared for work but never really recovered one hundred percent.

The actress has posted some concerning diatribes on social media that seem to echo her ex-husband Brandon’s accusations of mental health issues and drug abuse.

Maxie Jones Leaves General Hospital

There were rumors that the soap opera was going to have to recast the iconic character of Maxie Jones.  But, that doesn’t seem to be in the cards right now.

By sending Maxie Jones out of the country with her family, the daytime show doesn’t seem to have any more storylines lined up for the character right now.

Rather than replacing Storms, General Hospital seems to have retired the character all together for now.  Do you miss Maxie on GH?  Should the daytime soap opera hire a recast again?
