Let’s start off by talking about the surprise pregnancy. For a while, it wasn’t certain if the couple would stay together.

Although the pregnancy wasn’t planned, Chanel was thrilled to be carrying a child. It’s that desire that led them to adopt in the first place.

However, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) was scared of losing his wife. Thankfully, they talked things over and are on the same page again.

Fans just watched Chanel and Johnny hear the heartbeat in the episode that aired on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

In that episode, Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) assured the couple that everything with the pregnancy looks great. They also learned that the chance of Chanel’s cancer coming back is extremely slim.

While Chanel will want to do the right thing, it could be a mistake. The woman goes to Bayview to tell Sophia the news about her pregnancy.

With Sophia already sneaking out to get burgers and burner phones, she will likely do it again. The college student could sneak out to take care of Chanel and Johnny.

There are a lot of fans wondering if Sophia is going to kidnap the baby. However, I think she might do something even worse.

Sophia could gaslight Chanel in the traditional sense of the word. With Chanel being pregnant, she might blame it on baby brain.

However, as time goes on, Sophia could get even more cruel, intending to have Child Protective Services take the baby away. However, Sophia’s actions could lead to Chanel having another medical crisis.

Chanel is already having a high-risk pregnancy. Could Sophia go too far and end up costing JANEL their baby’s life? Would Sophia even care if she was responsible for the death of an unborn child?

There is also Rachel Black (Alice Halsey) to discover. The little girl has a conscience, so she won’t be able to keep Sophia’s dark secret for long.
