DOOL AlexAnn Hopkins Talks Joy Wesley’s Return – “She Has An Agenda”

Days of Our Lives spoilers note that Joy Wesley made her explosive return to Salem during the Friday, April 24 episode.

The character’s portrayer, AlexAnn Hopkins, recently spoke to TV Insider about her Days comeback and how Joy plans to stir the pot.

Joy Wesley’s Back

Days of Our Lives spoilers remind fans that Joy entered the canvas in October 2024, and then left the little town in March 2025, pregnant with Alex Kiriakis’ (Robert Scott Wilson) baby, even though he was none the wiser.

Despite being on the show previously for mere months, Hopkins revealed that coming back to the set felt like she was returning to a family.

Re-entering storylines means Joy will share a lot of scenes with Alex and his wife, Stephanie Kiriakis (Abigail Klein).

With that said, Hopkins also reveals that she’s working with other characters, getting increased screen time with Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams) and Suzanne Rogers (Maggie Kiriakis).

Hopkins notes, “That’s been so cool because they’re two of the people who have made this show what it is.”

All Grown Up

Hopkins states that Days fans will be treated to a more evolved version of Joy, as she’s changed a lot since her time away from the little town.

After all, she’s become a mom now, right? With baby daughter, Kelsey, in tow, Hopkins says that Joy now has a sense of purpose as a mother and, “… comes across as much more womanly now.”

With that said, even though Joy is more mature, fans should expect some drama from her. Hopkins teases, “If there’s one thing about Joy, she has an agenda.”

With that said, the actress goes on to note, “Her main goal is just to protect her daughter and give her the best experience in life possible.”

While Joy wanted to remain hush-hush about her daughter’s paternity all this time, Alex is a Kiriakis, so is this the reason she’s returning to Salem? To present Kelsey as an heir to the Kiriakis fortune?
