The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers for Wednesday, September 30, tease more trouble for Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) as Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) refuses to give up on their complicated surrogacy plan.

Steffy’s conversation with John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) did not go the way she hoped. Finn wasn’t pleased to hear that his wife had supposedly volunteered to become an egg donor and surrogate for Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) and Daphne Rose Walton (Murielle Hilaire).

That reaction will leave Steffy increasingly worried about keeping the deception going.

When Carter visits the cliff house again, Steffy will explain that Finn’s response has made an already difficult situation even worse. She may insist they need to abandon the plan before too many questions are raised.

Carter won’t agree.

Steffy Wants Out

Carter will remind Steffy just how much they both have to lose if the truth about their situation comes out.

There’s also Daphne to consider. She now believes Steffy has offered to help her and Carter have the child they desperately want, so suddenly backing out would leave Daphne confused and devastated.

Steffy will argue that there are simply too many ways for their story to fall apart. Carter, however, will remain convinced that they can pull it off if they move quickly.

With Finn away at his medical conference, Carter may see the timing as their best opportunity to put the next stage of the plan into motion.

Zende Reconsiders

Elsewhere, Zende remains frustrated with his situation at Forrester Creations.

He previously rejected the opportunity to sit down with Hope, but Katie Logan Spencer isn’t ready to give up on recruiting him.

Katie has enlisted Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock) to keep working on Zende, and her efforts may finally pay off.

Zende will ultimately contact Hope and agree to hear what she has to say. That doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll leave Forrester, but it gives Katie and Hope the opening they’ve been waiting for.
