Reintroducing this legacy Forrester and Logan family member is intriguing. It comes at a time when the show is refocusing on what had been a core tenet of B&B for many decades.
The Forrester, Logan, and Spencer battles have fueled storylines through the years, making this soap opera one of the most popular in the world. The RJ character is a Forrester and a Logan, which positions him at the center of the just-introduced fashion battle.
When Last We Saw RJ Forrester
Fans know that the most recent actor to portray Ridge Forrester’s (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke Forrester Logan’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) son hasn’t been seen since 2024.
RJ was devastated by Luna Nozawa’s (Lisa Yamada) betrayal and left the canvas shortly thereafter.
Joshua Hoffman (RJ) became Ridge Forrester Junior in 2023. He was the fifth actor to play the role, with child actors also included.
RJ actually served as the character who enabled Luna to be written into the plot. Yamada’s character was an intern at Forrester Creations who became RJ’s girlfriend until she had eyes for his cousin, Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz). That was the first true glimpse viewers had into Luna’s mind.
Bill Spencer Reignites Family Battles
Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) wanted to remarry Katie Logan (Heather Tom) for many years. Devoted viewers recall that it was before the recast of their son, Will, took place.
Finnegan George (Will), a child actor, was an excellent edition of that character from 2018 through 2020.
Will’s more recent return to Los Angeles, California, included mention of his social media success. Nicoletti’s fame grew as he developed a solid social media following for his lip-sync videos.
Having the generational rivalry between Will’s and RJ’s fathers bleed into modern-day storylines is good business. Extending historic conflicts is part of the essence of what makes soap a generational product.
So, Bill’s wedding gift to his renewed bride demonstrates his faith in her and reestablishes B&B’s core. Kudos to executive producer Bradley Bell for making this call.
Will Spencer’s Good Deed Is Undone?
Will discovered that Electra Forrester’s (Laneya Grace) friend, Dylan (Sydney Bullock), was living in her car. They invited the summer art teacher, whom Luna held hostage, to live above their spare garage at the beach house.
RJ’s return and recast create an easy leap into him being Dylan’s new boyfriend. That assumed pairing would initially double date with Will and Electra.
Just as Ridge and Bill don’t get along, the now-grown Will and RJ are primed to clash. Electra has already suspected that Dylan has boundary issues with Will, which is partially an overflow from what they endured with Luna.
But what the above setup probably telegraphs is a couple verses couple conflict as a proxy for the Forresters, Spencers, and Logans being involved in business and personal battles in this new year.
