All My Children Reboot: Kelly Ripa Officially Invites Susan Lucci Back As Erica Kane

All My Children fans have been playing the “Will they or won’t they?” game with a soap reboot for almost a decade now. 

After years of different companies promising to bring back the canceled soap opera, an All My Children reboot is FINALLY happening (sorta).  Plus, we heard it straight from a fan fave’s mouth that she’s coming back!

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have been trying to get an All My Children reboot up and running for years now.  After several stalled meetings and changes of regime, the daytime TV hosts have decided to go another route.

Ripa revealed that she and her husband Mark Consuelos (both All My Children alums) have decided to produce two movies based on the popular soap opera, which was axed back in 2011. 

AMC holds a special place in the couples’ hearts, they actually met on the set of the daytime TV show.

The Live! host shared the big news on her Sirius-XM podcast, “Let’s Talk Off Camera With Kelly Ripa.”  She also had a special guest on hand to help her make the announcement, All My Children fan fave Susan Lucci.  Lucci played the part of the iconic Erica Kane for several decades and became a household name thanks to her soap fame.

On air Kelly Ripa officially invited Susan Lucci to join the cast of the All My Children movies and be a part of the project.  The Erica Kane portrayer was quick to accept the invitation and can’t wait to get started.

Lucci gushed, “I would love to play Erica Kane again. Are you kidding?  She was so much fun to play. My goodness. It was so much fun. I was serious when I said I would look at the scripts and go, ‘really? I get to do this?’ This was a wonderful part.”
