Y&R Spoilers: Nate’s Trust Wrecked – Audra Has No One To Blame But Herself

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) didn’t need this.

Attending his just-discovered brother’s memorial in the morning and learning that the woman he loves has been lying to and cheating on him that night.

The scene at Society happened because Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) glared at Claire Newman (Hayley Erin). Maybe, just maybe, Claire would have said nothing if Audra hadn’t intentionally taken a seat where she could make direct eye contact with her, following their snarky exchange moments earlier.

But Audra followed her condescending tone with a stare, and Claire was pushed over the soapy line. Willing herself to Nate at Society’s bar and dropping the truth about Audra’s unseemly deal with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) should prove to be the death knell for her relationship with Nate.

Once Upon A Time At Glissade

The Glissade plot line was convoluted. Briefly, it was a company Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) controlled and wanted to give to Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) so she could leave Jabot.

Ashley rejected the offer during a period when she was suffering from a recurrence of her mental health issues. Eventually, Tucker took refuge in what he assumed was a trusting mind.

But Audra was working as a double agent, having accepted Victor’s pitch to maneuver Glissade away from Tucker.

With that accomplished, Tucker also learned that Audra wouldn’t agree to be his fallback woman, and he left town. At that point in the plot, Audra believed she would head the cosmetics company.

Enter Kyle Abbott Stage Right

But Victor pulled a fast one, as he’s so often done since first being recruited by Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) to run her company in 1980. He hired Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) because Victor knew Audra had limited business experience.

What followed was classic soap drama. Kyle and Audra clashed because they shared power and were physically attracted to each other.

But in Audra’s case, she was also emotionally drawn to Kyle. That was during the period when he suddenly left Summer Newman (Allison Lanier). However, he was never in love with Audra and was committed to Claire.

Nate Hastings Needs Time Apart From Audra Charles

At the least, Nate needs to create space with Audra. He won’t be able to make a clear-headed decision if he remains with her because Holden Novak’s (Nathan Owens) assessment was apt.

Holden told Claire that Audra has a way of getting into a guy’s head and that it’s hard to get her out of it. Audra’s intense physical appeal isn’t questioned by any fair mind. Neither is her reckless and impulsive behavior.

Audra is immature. So, she didn’t realize that her lack of self-restraint caused her to pursue Kyle and seek revenge against him as she had been doing for months.

It might be too late for her and Nate, and if so, that will be something she’ll later come to regret as one of the bigger, if not the biggest, mistakes of her life.
