Stockton Birthday Party Shooting Leaves 4 Dead – Updates

A mass shooting happened at a children’s birthday party in Stockton, California on Saturday, at the Monkey Space banquet hall. The Sheriff’s office issued an updated statement and confirmed that it seemed like a targeted family shooting. Read on for more details.

Four People Died

Sadly, of the four people who died, three were children, and the brutal details were confirmed by Sheriff’s spokesperson Heather Brent. In her press conference shared by USA Today, she confirmed that “Shortly before 6PM our dispatch received reports of possible gunshots.” Next, she confirmed that the crime happened at the hall where a family celebration took place.

Additionally, Brent mentioned that there were “14 victims of the shooting. Four of those are deceased.” Obviously, the shocking event meant that many people were rushed to the hospital. However, information seems limited on the perpetrator(s).

No Arrests Yet

As the investigation intensifies, police believe multiple people carried out the shooting. So far, it seems that the attack which started inside the building then moved to the outside, and some vehicles with bullet holes might help to establish evidence. Additionally, the police in Stockton found several firearms on the roof.

The tragic birthday party shooting hasn’t yet yielded any named suspects. So, Brent urged anyone with information, video, or surveillance to contact the Sheriff’s Office. For now, according to the latest updates, whoever carried out the brutal attack remains at large. The community, naturally, feels afraid and shocked to the core. And, as the news spread online, many people expressed their anger and disbelief at the callous act.

In the comments section of the Sheriff’s press conference, plenty of people seemed ready to say something about the horrifying true crime. Notably, a lot of them seemed angry with the lack of information. One person wrote:

It feels like they’re protecting the perpetrators more than the public. When political caution outweighs catching child killers, something is deeply broken.
