The 21-year-old, who has been outspoken about his strained relationship with his mother, Kate, recently announced that he’s working on his very first book. “I’ve been given the opportunity to write my very first book,” he shared with fans on Instagram Stories.
He described a “wonderful phone call with some pretty great friends” who are helping him bring the project to life, adding that “a lot of things were finalized, and drafting will start next week.” Collin hinted that updates will be coming soon, telling followers, “I can’t wait to share this with you all.”
A Complicated Family History
Collin grew up in the public eye alongside his seven siblings—twins Mady and Cara, and sextuplets Hannah, Alexis, Leah, Joel, and Aaden.
Following Jon and Kate’s divorce in 2009, the family fractured. Collin and his sister Hannah went to live with their father, while his bond with Kate and the rest of his siblings dissolved.
In past interviews and social media posts, Collin has described the pain of being “forced apart, pitted against each other.” In an emotional message, he reflected: “All the fame and money in the world, but what about kids being kids? I will always love them more than anything. The tears I shed behind closed doors, thinking about the memories we could’ve shared. I love you guys.”
Kate, however, has denied wrongdoing and, when asked about the estrangement, offered a cryptic comment on TikTok: “He knows why,” punctuated with a laughing emoji. She has maintained that she remains close with the rest of her children, who are now living independently as young adults.
A New Chapter
For Collin, the book is an opportunity to forge a new future as well as to go back in time. Early this year, he started his own firm, Gosselin Pressure Washing LLC, which he formally filed in March 2025, marking the beginning of his life away from reality TV.
While Kate has not publicly addressed her son’s upcoming project, Collin’s supporters see the book as a major turning point.
