Is Maksim Chmerkovskiy Ever Returning To Dancing With The Stars

For nearly a decade Dancing With The Stars rumors have hinted that fan fave Maksim Chmerkovskiy is gearing up for a returning to the ABC dancing competition. 

Recently, Maks sat down for an interview and discussed if he was ever going to come back to the DWTS stage and compete for the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy.  Here’s what the popular pro dancer had to say.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy On DWTS

Ukraine native Maksim Aleksandrovich Chmerkovskiy made his Dancing With The Stars debut in Season 2, which aired on ABC in 2006.  Maks went on to compete for sixteen seasons and announced in 2018 that he was leaving the show. 

After his departure, there have always been rumblings that Chmerkovskiy would come back, but so far they have not come to fruition.  

Over the years Maksim only came in first place once, which was in Season 18 when he was paired up with Meryl Streep. 

Some of the other celebs he danced with in previous seasons included Amber Rose, Willa Ford, Hope Solo, Kirstie Alley, Erin Andrews, Vanessa Lachey, and MANY more.

This week Maks sat down with Access Hollywood an set the record straight about his career plans and a potential return to the Dancing With The Stars stage.  The pro dancer explained, “I think the boat has sailed. I think my comeback is in the distant past.”

In the past the dancer has made comments about the show losing its focus on dancing and being influenced by social media and the press rather than the judges’ scores. 

Since leaving the show, Maksim went on to marry co-star Peta Murgatroyd and seems content doing guest appearances on TV and raising his family.
