GTV fans have been counting down the days until the debut of Ben and Erin Napier’s new spinoff, Home Town Takeover.
The renovation fan faves are busy promoting new episodes of their original series, and shared some exciting news about the Canada spinoff. Here’s what the Napier Family had to say about the new show!
Ben and Erin Napier debuted on HGTV in Home Town back in 2016. The Napiers proved to be one of the new shows in the reno niche during the pandemic that had staying power, and there have been seven seasons of Home Town since the premiere.
The Napiers Are Going To Canada
Earlier this year the Mississippi couple announced that they had scored a spinoff, that would be airing on Canada’s HGTV. The new series is appropriately titled, “Home Town: Takeover.”
During a recent interview, Ben and Erin revealed some new details about the spinoff. Apparently the series is based on the Napier’s version that airs in the states, however the couple won’t actually be on the new spinoff.
Erin Napier explained, “Our production company is Canadian. The people who make our show, they’re passionate about this Canadian takeover. But, because we are Americans, we are not legally allowed to host the show. We can only be in it as, like, guest stars.”
New Home Town Episodes Coming To HGTV
So far Canada hasn’t cast their version of Ben and Erin for their “Home Town: Takeover,” but as soon as more details become available we will be sure to pass the along.
In the meantime, the countdown is on for the premiere of the Napier’s new Home Town episodes on HGTV. The popular reno series is set to return on January 4th, and will be available for streaming the next day.
