Drama isn’t just on General Hospital. The drama happens offscreen as well. Steve Burton (Jason, GH) is appearing in headlines for what’s happening with his ex-wife.
His ex-wife Sheree Gustin made serious allegations against him. The former couple got divorced in 2022 after 23 years of marriage.
Steve Burton announced that they were getting a divorce when she became pregnant, and he wasn’t the father of the baby. In 2023, Burton and Gustin agreed to joint and legal custody of their children.
According to reports, Steve Burton accused his ex-wife of keeping him from seeing their youngest child Brooklyn. In court documents, he claimed that Gustin asked him to move from California to Tennessee.
She ended up moving to California. He moved to California to be closer to their children. Unfortunately Sheree Gustin made it hard for him to have a relationship with the children.
The General Hospital star accused her of starting a custody war. Steve Burton accused Gustin of forgetting how they ended up in the situation.
In the court documents, Burton stated that Gustin was the one who had an affair and became pregnant with another man’s child.
She moved her lover into her home after their separation and didn’t let Burton know that she was moving him in their house.
When Steve Burton married his new wife Michelle Lundstrom, Sheree Gustin didn’t accept her. The soap veteran accused his ex of controlling his time with their daughter. Gustin showed signs of bad behavior early.
She refused to refer to his wife by her name. Gustin minimized Lundstrom’s role in Burton’s life. He provided texts between him and his ex showing that she refused to refer to his wife by her first name. One of her messages claimed that Michelle Lundstrom wasn’t his family or their children’s family.
After Burton married Lundstrom, he wasn’t able to have a civil co-parenting relationship with Gustin. Sheree Gustin denied his claims. She claims she wants to work with him to get a fair custody arrangement. Instead, Gustin accused the actor of harassing her.
According to Sheree Gustin, the General Hospital star sent her messages. He accused her of parental alienation. According to Gustin, he makes these allegations when he can’t get in touch with Brooklyn. He sends them messages nearly every day.
It feels like he’s harassing them. According to Burton’s lawyer Sarah C Clark, the actor denies her allegations and claims they’re false. He has acted in the best interest of his daughter and will continue to do so. Steve Burton wants to make sure their daughter sees both parents.
After hearing the evidence, the court decided to grant Burton more time with Brooklyn. Sheree Gustin wasn’t willing to provide him with the time he was granted.
In addition to Brooklyn, Steve Burton and Sheree Gustin have two adult children. Things seem to be heating up with the former couple.
