Fans may remember that he and Ava Jerome (Maura West) were previously embroiled in a fierce custody dispute.
However, the situation came to a halt when she faced accusations related to the tragic Metro Court pool incident that led to the death of Baby Irene Ashford (Mazlyn).
After being cleared of those charges, Ava encountered yet another setback when her Cassadine divorce settlement was stripped away.
Currently, Ava finds herself short on funds to hire Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) for a new custody fight. Yet, given Ric’s feelings toward his half-brother, she might not need to worry about money this time.

News of the explosion at Michael and Sonny’s penthouse will eventually reach Ric, and he might come up with a brilliant strategy for Ava to regain full custody of her daughter.
Given the attack on the penthouse, where little Avery lives, and the fact that one of Sonny’s other children is currently in critical condition, this situation offers a distinct opportunity.
It’s clear that someone is after Sonny, which makes Avery’s living situation precarious. Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) managed to seize the moment and take Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) and Amelia Corinthos (Sequoia and Serenity Mork Macko) right from under Willow Corinthos’ (Katelyn MacMullen) nose.
