But despite many fans suspecting they know better, we can’t be sure of who is working against Anna or meddling with the lives of many back in Port Charles.
If I had to guess, I’m betting Anna isn’t even outside the city limits, yet trapped in a cell with no idea what is about to happen to her.
While some fans are thinking some sort of lookalike is about to appear, few have chimed in about the potential that it won’t be some new version of Anna that comes onto the scene, but rather, one we’ve seen before.
Who’s the Man on the Other End of the Line?
That Dutch accent gave it away instantly. The man speaking to Anna through that loud speaker either is Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) or is someone hoping to instill fear and pretend they are for a moment.
Anna’s scream at the very sound of his voice as he told her to prepare to enter her new life was all fans needed to know to understand we may not be seeing Anna again for a long time — if ever.
Moreover, if the man on the speaker is not Faison, then we have to wonder whether Peter August (Wes Ramsey) has returned to take over his father’s work — or if Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) or Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) are stepping in instead.
GH Spoilers Say a New Theory Emerges
The fan base has been going wild with speculation that Nathan and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) are both clones — not the real versions of themselves that once existed.
As much as this pains some viewers who are dying to see Nathan and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) couple up again, as well as Britt and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), we have to admit this is a pretty compelling theory.
It’s right up Faison’s alley if it was his intention to see to it that his kids — or anyone he fancied messing with — were reincarnated in some fashion to wreak havoc and turn them into mini versions of himself like he always desired.
This has led some to question whether Anna might be on her way to being cloned. Is that what the Cold Fusion project is about, because it seems as though it’s incomplete?
That’s Not Anna
Alas, we must also entertain the idea that we’ve seen this before. Sure, it wouldn’t be an entirely fresh take, but there was one recent hint last week that the new version of Anna we’ll be smacked with is not actually Anna at all, but her evil twin sister, Alex Merrick (Finola Hughes).
If that’s the case, we’re sure to be in for a whirlwind of criminal behavior as she steps into Anna’s shoes as Port Charles Police Commissioner.
This seems to ring true because by the time Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) got that call from Anna, Anna had already been abducted, signaling it wasn’t really her on the other end of the phone.
Who is most likely to spot this doppelganger first is anyone’s guess. Share yours in the comments, and keep checking back for more GH news and spoilers.
