This time last year, Willow’s marriage to Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) was nothing if not predictable and the mom of two seemed pretty cemented in an almost boring life- a rarity in Port Charles.
Then the General Hospital writers’ decided to turn her entire world upside down and we are all along for the ride.
Willow Chose Her Husband’s Uncle Over Stability
It’s hard to believe that Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) was ever a good man based on his most recent actions. He claims that his relationship with Willow was unplanned and very real, but he made a whole bunch of soulless decisions all along the way.
Like betraying Michael, constantly putting himself in tempting situations, and now manipulating her every move.
As Michael recovers from third degree burns in Germany, Drew is not only sleeping with his wife, but planting seeds of fear and discord all along the way.
By choosing Drew, Willow has burned nearly every bridge that she has ever built in Port Charles. The only people in her corner now are the Congressman, and her mother, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).
Nina May Hold The Key To Breaking Willow And Drew Up, But At A Cost
Nina and Drew began hooking up early last year, long before he was interested in Willow. Drew actually played a role in bringing the estranged mother and daughter back together again.
Nina’s gratitude towards Drew quickly turned to rage once she had a handle on the full situation. He has basically manipulated them both simultaneously and now the truth that might make Willow see Drew differently, may also destroy her relationship with Nina.
Drew Is Weaponizing The Truth
Drew is going to play every single angle available to him right now. He will taunt Nina into believing that their secret will destroy her relationship with Willow.
Drew will also think nothing of hurling that secret out into the light of day when he thinks that it might benefit him the most. The real question is what position Nina will choose to play out.
Perhaps this is where Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) comes in. We already know the two are going to put their usual animosity aside to try and break Willow and Drew up and they way things are going, Nina will need all of the help that she can get.
